Simple Surya Namaskar

The simple Surya Namaskar that has been practiced in India for years has recently found a whole lot of takers.

And if you want a good start to your day, what better than the Surya Namaskar, which is known to have a host of health benefits. There are 12 different poses to do in a Surya Namaskar and you’re known to have finished a complete round when you’ve performed two consecutive sets.

- You don’t need to be doing yoga regularly in order to practice the Surya Namaskar. If performed correctly, this exercise does not strain or cause injury. If performed in the morning, it relieves stiffness, revitalises your body and refreshes the mind. Do it during the day and it will instantly boost you up, practice it after sundown and it helps you unwind.

- Not only does the Surya Namaskar give you a great stretch and keep you fit physically (it is extremely beneficial for your joints, ligaments and improves flexibility and posture), but is also does wonders for your mental and emotional health.

- Surya Namaskar stimulates almost every system in your body - the cardiovascular system because it keeps the heart strong and, the digestive system as well as the nervous system.

- It also makes endocrinal glands like the thyroid, parathyroid and pituitary glands function normally.

- Practising the Surya Namaskar regularly is also known to ease stress and give you peace of mind besides increasing your levels of concentration.

- If you have trouble sleeping at night, the Surya Namaskar will help you fall asleep without using any external stimulants.

உலகத் தமிழ்ச் செம்மொழி மாநாடு

The image of saint-poet Thiruvalluvar’s statue in Kanyakumari, lashed by waves caused by the tsunami and encircled by seven icons from the Indus Valley Civilisation, forms part of the logo of the World Classical Tamil Conference to be held in Coimbatore next June.
The logo emphasises the ideal of the mankind that it should always be free of narrow walls of race, creed and casteism. The message is found in a palm leaf manuscript at the bottom of the statue. This concept (“pirapokkum ella uyirkkum”) has been declared the motto of the meet.
The figures of the Indus Valley Civilisation icons, found in the logo, symbolise the Dravidian civilisation, which is regarded as one of the four ancient civilisations, according to an official release.
The number of icons stresses the importance of ‘seven’ in the lives of Tamils.

Please ACT dont REACT

Hi Indians,
We salute the Hero’s for their contributions. I have something on my mind which is hurting me badly.
1. Why don’t we have a prerequisite for an Indian citizen to become an MLA or MP?
2. We have to review their performances once in 6 months and rate them.
3. All the candidates have to pass an exam (we have to check wither they are aware for the constituency he is nominated) before being nominated as a candidate for a constituency.
4. I have a serious doubt about the performance of our beloved Prime minister, If Sonia ji has to take all the decisions then what is the role of our PM? Shame shame XXX shame.
5. The opposition leader said X, Y, Z and he sited that he election campaign is more important that Country. Shame shame XXX shame.
Suggestions:
1. We can have a remote controlled device which has a camera fitted to track the terrorists hiding place. We can also fit some ammunition on the device and hit the target. We could have saved some Lives.
2. Guys think out of box. Don’t be dump as our politicians who damm selfish.
